Fobus for RAMI?
« on: August 30, 2007, 07:05:38 PM »
Does anyone know if a Fobus paddle designed for another pistol fits the RAMI well - i.e., with a good "snick" sound upon holstering and good retention?  I have heard that the one designated HK-1 fits, sort-of.

I tried a Blackhawk holster for a Glock 26 and it fit pretty good.
It was a kydex on a leather paddle type holster OWB.

Funny, I've tried my Rami in a Blackhawk kydex holster for a G26, and it doesn't seem to like it very much.  The retention is horrible, and I've tried all having the screw all the way in to all the way out.  The Rami does click into place if the screw's all the way in, but it won't hold.

            Is your Blackhawk model C1352?

I dont remember the model number as I tried it on at the
store and didnt like the way fit on my right side.
I cant draw with the holster on my right easly so I was looking for a left side for a right hand draw which is
            much easyer for me.

the SG5 (says SG/PRO on the side of the holster) does indeed fit, but it's a quite tight fit once it snaps in. RAMI's definitely not going anywhere unless you draw it.

For a fit that doesn't snap in but still holds, you can try the HK-1.

I have both of these. I use the HK-1 when around the house, but if I'm going to be running around the farm or something I'll use the SG5 as it has better retention.

I have the "split decision" IWB holster from High Noon Holsters for my Rami that works real well. I find that with any of my IWB holster I have to wear a T-shirt under my outer shirt because of the rough slide on the Rami. Two shirts here in the desert is a  bit much, but it beats the welts on my side from the Rami slide.

Up until it got cold enough for me to switch to a jacket and shoulder holster I carried my 40 RAMI in a Fobus GL26 paddle holster.
The fit is quite good, exactly the right length for the RAMI barrel, and retention is very good.
