CZ-100 and +P+ rounds?

Can the 100 handle +P+ 9MM 115gr rounds? I just got a 100 a few days ago, and I have yet to shoot it.  Well thanks!

If I may ask a question. Why would you want to use +P+ ammo? From what I have been able to gather there is little if anything to gain by its use. It is not even a recognized SAMMI classification (no pressure limits).

If you must use it I would suggest you change the recoil spring to a 22# G19 spring. They are a perfect fit. You might also want to consider an AroTec g19 guide rod, also a perfect fit. I got mine from Lone Wolf, but I suspect others carry them.

I would also suggest that you inspect the pistol every 100 rounds or so and look for signs of premature ware and battering.

I got a box of federal 9MM 115gr. JHP +P+, it was the same price as the non +P+ ammo. I thought I could put it in a mag and let it be next to my bed, just in case I get robbed again. I only have 50 rounds, so it's not like I'm going to shoot 1K right now. But it will work? Now if it will only stop raining so I can go shoot this gun! Thanks! Oh ya, I also have a CZ-75BD, and I have put +P rounds in that one.

I looked through my manual and did not find anything specifically prohibiting +P+ ammo. The real problem I have with it is that +P+ means it will have pressure above +P and less than proof loads. So you really have no idea what the pressure is unless the manufacturer tells you. Good luck with that.

I don't suppose 50 rounds will do much in the way of excess wear, but you really do need to change out the factory recoil spring for at least a 22# G19 spring. You are wanting to fire very high pressure loads and the CZ100's are undersprung from the factory.

One other thing to think of. If you are going to bet your life on any particular load in you CZ100, you really should fire several hundred rounds of that exact load to check for function and reliability. I certainly would not bet my life on any load I only fired 20 or 30 of. Just my opinion.

That sounds like a good idea, I do need to get more ammo. I think I got a box of Fiocchi, some where. I will go shooting this weekend.

Well, all I can say is, WOW, I like the CZ-100! Even with the long trigger pull! I like that! I gave it to my dad (who has been shooting for 50+ years, and with more guns than I can count to) was able to stand and pull off 3" groupings at 25 yards with the 10 round mags! I was doing about 6-7" at that range. I did not use the +P+, I thought it was a good idea to get the feel before I put them in the gun. And as for the long pull, it's kinda odd, but, I really like it. And I was able to do a 10" grouping at 10 yards with one hand, shooting as fast as I could! So, ya, I liked it. And at 330$, that was a good buy!

Sell the +P+ stuff to someone.

Unless you shoot a lot of it, you can't be sure what its going to do with regard to accuracy.  And up close and personal, it's not going to do much that standard +P or factory ammo won't do almost as well -- with less wear and tear on the gun and you.

While some +P ammo is quite good, much of the +P+ stuff (which is more marketing gimmick than anything) doesn't perform as well as the less-hot alternatives.  You gain something in your head by using +P+, but you may not gain much out of the barrel.

I"m not sure just how durable the CZ-100 might be, and I sure wouldn't push it.
