Magazine feed problem

I am having a problem with my gun clips feeding. With both FMJ's and Hollow points..180 gr. When I pull back the slide and release it will not feed a round into the chamber (happens every time I try) :(   I am finding that if I disassemble the clips and apply some grease to the spring and metal sliding part in the clip it seems to work for a while. You should not have to do this IMO. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..:D

It MIGHT (but probably isn't) technique.  Especially if you ONLY have the problem when chambering the first round, and not with subsequent rounds when firing the gun.

Rather than pulling back the slide and releasing it, see what happens if your just use the slide release...  The slide will often slam home with more crispness, that way.

Mine did this to me the other day at the range with one of the OE 10rounders, my 12 round meggars worked flawlessly. Im guessing since CZ ships 40ps with 10rounders, it means they are one more "spare" part they had laying around and no telling how long they have been idle.

I had the same problem.  I polished the underside of the mag lips (seemed to help a little).  It disappeared after a couple hundred rounds.

The 12 round Mec-Gar mags are available at CDNN for $18.99 each. These are full sized mags, just like the factory 10 rounders that came with your 40P, not compacts, so you will need the thick rubber baseplates to fill the gap. But, you do get two more rounds, and they are much less expensive than new CZ factory mags (which are manufactured by Mec-Gar, anyway, if I'm not mistaken!).

Thanks Hammerhead!  Will I need to take them off the original mags? ( the baseplates) or do they come with them  already on?

Yes always try and close the slide with the slide release. Some people will baby the slides by accident, and therefore the round will not load properly. I still only have my OEM magazines. They seem to be fine. I'm still trying different ammunition. I have found Magtech so far the best at not having FTF's. The magtech has a smaller head spacing. I really do not believe it has anything to do with the mags as of far. Of course I have only put 200-300 rounds through it. Only time will tell.
