Bud's Guns showing railed steel frame Baby Eagles on web site
« on: October 07, 2008, 10:46:20 AM »
Gang,

I don't know if they really have them or not, but Bud's Gunshop online shows pictures of the steel Baby Eagles with light rail in their Magnum Research pistols section.  I noticed that the guns are coming in with IWI markings, so perhaps MRI is importing the newer IWI models now.  It is a shame they still have the slide mounted safety lever, but it does make for a nice looking pistol.  Sort of like an SP-01, but with the Eagle's sleeker appearance.  If I had not run up so many medical bills lately I might grab one myself.

:(

eerw,

Thanks for the link but I got the "dreaded red x box" for a picture.  Might you have a picture?

Thanks,

Neat looking, but a little pricey compared to an SP-01 or Phantom given the features of the CZ.  Perhaps they will drop some over time.

Oh, there it is!  Thanks eerw for posting the picture!  That pistol is pretty sweet!  I held a polymer Baby Eagle in my hands once.  I did not care much for it.  However, this steel frame, full sized pistol looks like it is going a hundred miles per hour just standing still.

OOTB, the grip felt excellent, trigger was very long & heavy (similar to Beretta IMO). Shoots well. Did not like the slide mounted safety/de-cocker.

Cheers, Ando.

I bought one before they offered the rail built into the frame. Toyed around with the new one with the rail and those different sights at a gunshop.... I didn't like the new sights at all and the rail seemed to un-balance the gun. I'm not sure if I'm just used to mine, or if it really was that different.

It's great that there's enough interest in the guns to warrant releasing another variant though. The part that worries me is that it's already impossible to find aftermarket accessories for these guns, so another variant might put off some holster manufacturers.
