CZ 85B .40 Compact
« on: February 10, 2009, 10:20:22 AM »
My local gun store has a new, in the box 85 .40 Compact for sale.  It's date stamped '04, but it appears to be new.  I have four other CZ pistols- 2 75Bs, a 40B, and a 97B.  The 40B and the 97B have problems with feeding JHP, and the factory is going to work both ramps.  I really, really like the 85B Compact, but I've read about a lot of early problems with the 75/85 .40  Compacts.  Was the fix to the problems the newer mags?  Is there any problem with the ramp and different types of rounds?  Any other problems?  Info and experiences appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

My 75B compact 40 is dated 05.  Not sure when they changed the name from 85B compact to 75B.  Mine and works fine with the factory 10 round flush mags.  I have 165gr gold dots that are hard to load the 10th round without the plastic loader.  For some reason my 180gr Blazer brass load all 10 rounds fine by hand.  There is a PO6 at the local gun store and I looked it over.  The factory 10 round mags (new style) look like a fullsize length magazine with a rubber bumper covering the 1/2 inch of the mag that sticks out.  David
