Did I mess up the trigger on my SP01? Fixed
« on: March 01, 2009, 02:33:37 PM »
The gun is an SP01 with safety. I changed the angle and polished the hammer surface that engages the sear. Now when I press the trigger, there is a click as the sear disengages, but the hammer doesn't fall because the double action mechanism takes over. Continuing the pull it acts like a DA and drops the hammer after about 3mm of the hammer cocking. It doesn't always do this. About half the time the hammer falls like normal.

Do I need a new hammer, or is there a surface I can reduce in the DA mechanism? Or did I just reassemble it wrong? Thanks.

Don't know if this might help, but been there and did that with my 97B.  Posted the question in home gunsmitthing and got great response which helped me solve the problem.  CZ Forum home gunsmithing[/url]http://www.czforumsite.info/index.php?topic=20418.0

Thanks a bunch. That's probably what I need. I'll work on it tonight.

Yep, that was it! Just a few thousandths off the bottom of the ear and no more hangups. That was some hard steel to file!
