Night sights for a 75B in .40Cal?
« on: March 03, 2007, 11:58:48 PM »
Folks, I'm sure that this has been discussed here ad nauseum, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions regarding night sights for a 75Bin .40 cal?  This is the gun that I can most accurately shoot, and I'm thinking that may I should dress her up with some night sights.

Any one have any preferences, what you may have tried, what worked and what didn't?

Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions!

The .40 takes the same sights as the 9mm 75B fullsize.

XS Sights, Trijicon, Meprolight and PT (MMC) all make sights for the gun.  XS are high quality, but a different design.  Trijicon and Meprolights are simllar in quality, with adherents for either brand.  PT/MMC seem (at least in the past) to be a little less durable, but come with a good warranty that PT honors.

I like XS and Meprolights, but that's just a personal preference.  I have, the last couple of times out, just gotten the front sight in tritium.

Unfortunately, you're gonna pay big-time when buying night sights for your -75.

F'rinstance: Trijicon night sights for any Glock model are $99 MSRP, and you can probably find them for less locally.  The same thing for a CZ-75B design costs $135, and is a special order.  What up with that noise?  I must be shopping in the wrong place.

We try to keep CZ sights in stock here at XS.  They run $120.00 plus shipping, but that is the price regardless of the firearm.

Has anything changed recently?  I still haven't purchased those night sights, but want to soon.  Are there any other models or manufacturers that work with the CZ75 in 40 cal?

Factory takeoff Meprolights are available from CZCustom for $50 a set.  Just got a front from them a couple weeks again and they're still PLENTY bright, and better than new because you don't have to drill/file the front sight to pin it back in place.

Howdy Mr. Richard,

Count my vote for the Trijicon nightsights.  They are installed on all of my pistols, and I have never had an issue with the first set.  Well I did replace one set on a Sig P226, but they had been installed on it for about 14 years, and were starting to get too dim.

I have tried other brands, such as Meprolight, but personally have just found the Trijicons to be the better deal for me.  As Mr. Walt said, it largely is a matter of personal preference.  I have had issues in the past with Meprolights needing to be replaced far too often, but it is possible I got some from a bad batch too.  The company always replaced them under warranty, to their credit.  But it got really old having to keep replacing them too.

I have never had a set of Trijicons fail on me like that, and I do own several sets of them.  They are installed on all of my CZ pistols too, and I have been nothing but highly satisfied with them.

I have the meprolights on my cz83 and like them.  However, with my older eyes, the XS big dot sights do look attractive.  Has anyone purchased and installed them in the CZ75 in .40 cal, and what have the results been?  They are pretty pricey, so I really would like to hear how they work out in the real world.  Thanks so much for your suggestions and help!

Does anyone know precisely what the model number of the XS sights would be to fit the CZ75B 40 cal?  I see a set for the CZ40B in the XS catalog, but not one for the CZ75B in .40 cal.  Thanks so much in advance!
