CZ 2075 RAMI Wanna Be
« on: June 02, 2009, 03:57:33 PM »
I have a CZ75 SP-01 and love to target shoot with it but I think I am at the point where I would like to get a C.C. weapon (and get licensed and trained). I'm in my 50's and been around guns all my life but mainly just for hunting, target shooting, or under the seat of the truck. I have a Taurus PRO-40 Compact but I find it too big for C.C. I'm looking towards the RAMI because I Love CZ's to start with but there are others out there and the RAMI is more expensive than the SP-01 which is amazing to me? What do y'all think is the best 9mm subcompact out there for price and quality.

The RAMI will be heavier than the Taurus, but I think a superior weapon.

You know what they say, "You get what you pay for". Well I truly believe that you get MORE with a RAMI than any other subcompact out there...of course I AM prejudiced, but heck this IS the CZForum :D

I;d agree Otto.

Great story:

Was at the range the other day and the guy shooting in the lane next to me was shooting his brand new para ordinance nite hawk .45. He would fire 2 rounds, gun would jam, clear jam, 2 more, jam etc.

He kept hearing me load a mag, rapid fire, reload and shoot again. Finally after about 20 minutes of this he walked over to me and asked me what gun I had. I told him it was a .40 CCW gun by CZ.

He shot it and told me his para jams constantly and I think he is going to sell it and buy my exact model RAMI.

I looked hard at PO nite hawks and chose the RAMI .40 in alloy because it is the same profile, good knockdown power, and the RAMI actually functions without putting 2000 rounds through it before it stops jamming!

I love CZ guns now!

I really like my .40 RAMI but would like to have the extended mag length convenience of the 9mm for stability.  Is the 9mm extended length mag butt just an extension for better grip??  If so, could the extension piece be put onto a .40 magazine??

OR, are there already extended length mags for the .40??

I'd appreciate any feedback.

FYI--Yep, there are extended mags for the .40 S&W.  I think it's a 10 round magazine,  :-[ I'm so embarassed that I don't really know :-[

9 rounds in the extended from the factory.

Yeah, it is just one extra round, but it is a factory mag with the nice (looking) lil grip extension

Thanks for the feedback, folks.  Guess I'll have to go to the CZ site and see if they show any.

Oh yeah, went to the range yesterday and shot the $not out of the RAMI.  Can you see the big grin on my face??? ;D

I have one of the 9 round mags I carry as backup when I CCW my Rami .40 in alloy.

I have no problem getting a good grip on the RAMI with the normal 8 round mags in it. They have a slight mag finger extension on the base plate. I can easily get 2 fingers on the grip of the gun and I've had no problem holding onto the gun while firing. I feel like I have complete control of the little rascal with just 2 fingers on it. I think the beaver tail is a good one and I can really grip the gun well with the rubberized grips.

The 9 round mag is extended and I can get all my fingers on the RAMI with it in. I just don't carry it in the gun because I don't like the extra 1/2-1 inch extension of the gun while carrying IWB style.

Let's see, the old Marine Corps rifleman's creed says something about it NOT being the sound of the burst, but the 'HITS" that count.  Amen to that.
