New member, new rami range report
« on: July 10, 2009, 05:21:00 PM »
 Hi Gang,
Been lurking here reading for awhile. Finally registered and my first post.

Got my new Rami BD 9mm yesterday. Got it home and took it down also the mags and cleaned it real good and lubed it back up. It was pretty gunked up with anti rust grease from the factory. I thought I might do a little fluff and buff on it , but the the feed ramp looked polished from the factory.
Went to the range today and ran 250+ rounds through it with just one hickup. I ran 100 rounds of Remington 115 gr , 100 rounds of winchester white box 115 gr FMJ,  50 rounds of Priv Partizan 115 gr FMJ and about 30 rounds of left over Wolf FMJ ammo I had laying around. It ate everything I put in it.  I had one fail to return to battery,  but that was after firing the wolf ammo at around the 270 rnds mark. She was getting pretty dirty by then. I would have liked to run some hollow points through her but like many others I cant find any ammo around here.
So I don't know if CZ has solved all of the problems with this gun, but I am more than pleased with mine. I see my Firestar becoming a safe queen and my new Rami becoming my primary carry gun.
Hope this helps anyone on the fence debating to buy one.

I have a set of kimber recoil springs ordered, per suggestions in this forum. Will give another range report after they are installed.

Woody,

Hey woodyga, welcome to the CZ forum.  Always good to hear from a happy Rami owner. ;D   Dusty

I will piggyback on woody's post to say that I got my RAMI today as well.

I got the Polymer non-decock version as I am not a fan of decockers and don't need to have removable grip panels.

I am going to take it out tomorrow and put it through its paces.  Mine came with two 14-rounds mags and one 10-round mag.  I like the idea of having the two bigger mags for range use and the small mag for CCW work.

This is my second CZ handgun and I love them both (even though I haven't even fired one of them).

Just need to order by Crossbreed Supertuck now.

Welcome and glad you chose the RAMI and had a good first run with it. I think we interacted on concealedcarryforum.com regarding the springs. Good shooting.

No problem with anything you feed a CZ. I put 25 rounds of semi-wad cutters, and 25 rounds of JHP through my rami yesterday without a problem. Would have shot more but I hoarding what little ammo I have left.
You can't go wrong with any CZ.

Nice to hear from you guys.

I don't think a person needs the Kimber springs for the 9mm, but I'm curious to see how they perform.

I don't think I would replace the spring set if you are not having any problems. I replaced them on both my 9 and .40 to solve a slight hesitation right before going to battery. CZ reangled and polished the feed ramp and those issues disappeared. Next time to the range the stock springs go back in the 9mm, CZ told me they tested the gun with both spring sets and had no problems. The 18lb Wolff's were installed when I got it back though. Mike

  Hi Gang,
My Kimber springs came in.  I installed just the inside spring (the small one that is captured). Going to the range in the morning to test it out. It feels like it is a little harder to rack the slide now. This should address any failure to return to battery problems. My 10 rnd magazine should be here tomorrow. Hope it shows up before I go to the range so I can test it also.
Will try to send 200 rds down range and report results here.
 Woody,

  Hi Gang,

Back from the range. The Rami performed flawlessly. This will be my new carry gun. Sent about 200 rounds of various ammo down range with no hickups. I don't know what the combination of one kimber inner recoil spring and one original CZ outer recoil spring is poundage wise, but it does work for me. Thanks to Macx for the excellent photos on how to change the inner recoil spring, made it a snap... took about 2 mins to change it.

My 10 rnd Mag didn't show up before I went to the range so no report on that.
With close to 500 rnds down the tube I feel more than confident that it will go bang and not jam everytime I pull the trigger. Cant wait for the new 10 rnd Mag to show up so I can start Conceal carrying this little jewel. With the 14 rnd mags it would stick out a bit. Now I need a few holsters for it. I hope to find one this weekend at the gun show. Is it true that holsters for a glock 26 & 27 fit the Rami almost perfectly?

You might check out Hazel Leather, he's a forum member and does great work.  Mike

I've heard some leather Glock 26 holsters will work and a few others, but I was trying to buy a Crossbreed Supertuck blemished holster for the 26 to use with my Rami and the owner said it would definitely not fit the Rami.
