I was browsing through the 75 Classic forum for some info on my gun that I got about 8 months back. I realized that I'd been too busy to log in here for a while and thought I'd share a belated report on how well my new "old" gun is doing. I got this when I tripped over it at a "sweet deal" price at one of the local firearms swap meets. Oddly enough I saw it only at the end of the day as I was leaving when my buddy said "Wait a sec, I see a revolver I want to look at". The 75 was in the case next to his revolver for only $395. Up this way that is a DEAL ! ! ! ! I'd been casting about for a companion 9 to go with my Shadow and the price, known good ergos and performance and fact that I could share mags between the guns made the deal a slam dunk.
I only later learned that there may be an issue but in my case the mags from my Shadow all worked in the 75 just fine.
My 75 was born in 1995 according to the stamping on the slide. It's in lovely shape with no significant scratches or dings but some gentle wear on the hard edges of the Parkerizing from holster wear.
Anyhow, I recently joined a club that shoots IDPA events and weekly practice and drills nights. Some time back I made up a leather pancake holster just for this and pictures are shown below.
I'm probably writing this because today I shot with the gun in my first IDPA match. The gun did superbly. The times that my score suffered I had no one to blame but myself. I'd expected a big difference between the Shadow and the 75 but in truth once I installed the 13 lb mainspring and stoned the action following the guide for the Shadow the two guns have far more in common than not.
My pair of CZ's are a happy couple that won't be leaving my anytime soon.
Here's pictures of the gun and the home made holster and Kydex mag pouches that I also made. The go onto a nice stiff leather belt that was made following the holster but wasn't done at the time these pictures were taken. And as you can also see I hadn't cut the belt holes in the wings when the picture was taken.
