Homemade "strongmount" riser for Dillon 550?
« on: September 09, 2009, 01:53:32 PM »
I'm wondering who has made up a riser for a Dillon 550.  ???  I may buy the Dillon Strongmount but it looks like it eats up a lot of bench space.   I have a pretty small loading area so I'm considering a wooden riser that stays at the front edge of the bench.

If any members have done this I'd love to see some photos.

Jack I've been reloading with a Dillon 550B for years and it's mounted with their strong mount.  It really doesn't take up that much space (width wise or length wise).  I'd go with it.  It's purpose built just for the reloader and anything else is just a compromise.

Otto, I guess I can count on you to help me spend money.   You're right though, by the time I fussed around making some darned thing I'd probably have $200 worth of hassle behind me and it would likely be a compromise.  ;D  I gotta stop re-inventing the wheel, it's tiresome.
