Hi all,
I am the new owner of a CZ-82. After going through the pistol I noticed that there is a significant amount of play in the trigger (prior to the sear being in contact with the hammer) caused by the disconnector. For example, when the slide is racked and the hammer is cocked for SA fire, the disconnector stays 'engaged' or 'down' in the slide. Now at this point, I have a significant amount of play in the trigger. When taking up this trigger slack, the disconnector will move or 'pop' back up into the notch in the slide. After taking up this slack the trigger will cause the sear to rotate and the hammer to fall.
After a through cleaning, the disconnector would occasionally 'slide' back up into is notch after racking the slide and eliminating this play in the trigger.
In order to better understand what was actually going on, I took of the grips. I worked the slide and trigger while examining the disconnector. In my observation and limited knowledge, it appears that the trigger bar should be receiving enough pressure from the trigger spring to automatically slide the disconnector 'up' or 'disengaged' after racking the slide. So I would assume the trigger spring is too weak to perform this otherwise normal operation.
So my questions are:
1) Is my assumption correct that the normal operation of the CZ82 after racking the slide for SA operation is to have the disconnector 'slide' upwards back into its slot.
2) Is the problem from a weak or faulty trigger spring.
Thanks a lot!
