Good Christmas presents
« on: January 04, 2010, 04:50:33 PM »
Getting a Christmas list out me is like watching a one-legged man win a butt-kicking contest. But the family persisted and so my list went like this...
-gift card
-boxes of ammo (either 9mm or .40)
-Monty Python's DVD set
-a lump of coal

Well, I got 3 out of 4. All went to good use as seen below.

I shoot at Master Class Shooters in Monroe, NY. It's a little hole in the wall place compared to a couple other ranges in the area. They have 10 lanes and usually run some sort of league (though I haven't seen any yet this year; tough times!?!?). But all in all, good people.

First, I pulled out the Kahr PM40 for 50 round of xmas ammo. With the truncated American Eagle rounds, it kinda irked me having to rack the slide several times due to FTF. So I switched to my P-01 and 200 rounds of Sellier & Bellot in the berm.

This was 50 rounds of .40 and 25 rounds of 9mm. (some flyers because I got trigger happy sloppy fast towards the end of the .40's)

Then the remaining 175 round of 9mm. The P-01 loved this Christmas.

End result of 250 rounds and most of my Christmas list.

All shots were taken from 7 yards.

Little help is requested here since they don't have an instructor and I'm not about to pay for one to come up there. Most of my shots are grouped left. I've looked this problem up and have tried to use correct posture. I use the pad of my finger and pull straight back. I will admit that I sometimes catch myself "dropping" the gun (anticipation of shot). Though I noticed that after each shot, when I decocked the hammer and shot DA, the shot placement was almost spot on.

This type of grouping happens almost all the time I shoot (a pistol; not w/ rifles). I also have to shoot one handed since I'm in a wheelchair and use my left hand for support. I mostly shoot straight on w/ the target. I find it easier and more comfortable than from the side or angled.

Then after I got home and had taken care of the guns, ammo, supplies. I sat back w/ my last item on the list; a lump of coal.

Leave it up to sisters to find these things. Good stuff.

Very nice shooting. Don't you just love shooting out a fist sized hole in rapid rire? It really gets the attention of the other shooters at the range.

Very nice shooting, sir! As for the brew, looks too "earthy" for me. :)

Thank you all for the compliments. Maybe I set my standards too high! :-\

As for the brew; I'm not keen on dark's either (more a red's guys). But I had to give it a try. I was surprised how good it tasted. I didn't know there was actually a beer w/ that name. So when unwrapped a box of beers and saw "Lump of Coal", I laughed so hard.
