well funny you should say that, as lately i have been looking at a alaskan, and a desert eagle in .44mag. the alaskan i am after would be .454.

A Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 Casull would be an excellent choice for me as it would share my existing stock of .451 inch Bullets with my .45 ACP.

Now with 8 +1 rounds of .44 Magnum on tap, the Desert Eagle is no slouch in the Fire Power Department.

Also with the 10mm, some Alliant Blue Dot Powder or some such propellant, you can get very reasonable power out of the 10mm.  It will be less than the .44 Magnum, but certainly respectable.  Properly sprung, a 10mm Witness could handle it.

I use a sprinco with a heavier recoil spring for my hotter reloads and recoil is nothing.

The Elite Match is a great pistol and easily able to handle anything you throw at it as long as is has the right set-up

Way I figure, I have 15 + 1 of perfectly crafted 10mm rounds in a VERY accurate pistol, vs 6 out of a revolver or 8 from the much larger DE.

For even more fun, the Witness Hunter is a great pistol as well if hunting is in the cards

As far as powder goes, Blue dot is good but I LOVE vihtavuori n350 for screamers.

But I prefer VV for everything

Just my opinions

-Take care
