New Shadow
« on: June 15, 2010, 11:53:09 AM »
I got lucky and found a new in the box Shadow the other day. The price was too good to pass up so I jumped all over it. It is a stock Shadow and has had no work done to it. I'm looking forward to running it in Production in USPSA. I've shot USPSA for years but this is my first CZ for Production.

Has anyone attempted to do most or all of the work to their Shadow to have it set up like a Custom Shadow? I am 100% sure Angus and Eric Z. will do the work on my Shadow but how tough is the work if you are not an experienced CZ guy? I have ran STI's, 1911's, and XDm's almost exclusively so I am CZ ignorant. I guess I am mostly asking out of curiosity because I doubt I can do the work.

Thanks.

I'm in the same boat. New Shadow & looking to get the most out of it.
Spring changes are easy. Good info on this site where to get the parts & how change them out.
You already have fiber optic front & competition rear sight, right ?

A good start ...

For the time being you could switch out the hammer and recoil spring- the hammer spring really helps the trigger pull, and the lighter recoil spring if you are shooting softer handloads. These are a couple of the first things many guys do to their Shadow when they first get them. Super easy things to switch out.

Thanks for the responses. Yes sir it does have a fiber optic. I will probably just hand it over to Angus and Eric and let them work their magic on it. I know I can do the springs but I don't want to screw anything else up. Thanks!

Let the Pro's take care of it. Have Rob turn it into a Custom or Target. While it's there have Rob put the short black straight SAO trigger($80) in ,you will never regret it

I handed it off to Eric at CZ the other day. I should be able to go pick up my new toy here in the next few days.

Would love to hear what work they do and the cost to bring to custom/target specs.

Also let us know how it compares to the stock shadow.
