Tactical Sport RHS Safety Drama
« on: July 31, 2010, 08:35:01 PM »
Apparently I've managed to do something stupid to my Tactical Sport, and the issue has me perplexed.

In short.... My RHS Safety will not stay on the gun.  Not quite sure what I've managed to screw up on it, as I wasn't having this problem before when I was shooting it a lot (I've been playing in production for a while, and it's sat in a safe before I detail stripped it and cleaned it).

Here's where I'm at.  Gun was working fine couple months ago, and gets doused in rig and stuck in safe for storage.

Gun comes out, and I detail strip it, do the whole cleaning thing, and lube it up to shoot.  Go to put RHS safety back together, and the detent has become a PITA to move back.  Feels like its "stuck" on something, but eventually I nestle it around and get things back together.  Didn't really think much about it.

Go shooting, and safety will literally pop off the gun after a couple mags of ammo.  Nearly lost it the first time it happened.

The "channel" for the detent is clean.  Spring and plunger look just fine.  Everything looks fine, and I can move the plunger back in the channel easily fby pressing the front backwards from inside the hole in the frame.  When the gun is assembled, I can't hardly move the plunger back from the top for the life of me.  Even when I have it back "together" , the safety still flies off.

Anyone seen this before?

do you have an SP-01? when you remove the ejector cage with the sear, look at the RHS from inside the frame. there should be a little plate there that retains it when the LHS is removed. i think my TS had the same thing. if that's missing, the RHS will fall out.

Hmm... No SP01 series here at the moment.  Do have 75SA's, but not familiar with the part you are talking about.

Trying to google a parts diagram on the TS, but having no luck.  Anyone know of one laying about?

Whoops...... I lied.  Found a diagram hidden in a link.

http://www.czub.cz/navody/cz75ts_en.pdf

I'm looking and everything looks normal to me.  Except part number 30B.  This looks like what *should* be the RHS detent (the little plunger thing with the spring that goes back on the side of the frame, holding in the safety).  I'm guessing it is, but it's not like what I have (mine is the same found on all the other ambi safety guns I've seen (and the reverse of what looks to be 30A/31).

Hmmm.... perhaps that could be the problem.  Guess I'll call Angus and see if they know anything.

30b is exactly the part I was referring to in my other post. You'll need to order it if it is not in your gun. Its sole purpose is retention of the rhs safety.

Except there's no spring (as can be noted with the diagram). It's just a quasi-detent plate that holds the RHS safety in place. The only actual detent - that functions as a detent between positions, complete with spring - is on the LHS.
