CZ-70 trigger pull
« on: July 29, 2010, 12:58:17 PM »
I recently got a CZ-70.  Nice little pistol, but the DA trigger pull is about 217 pounds.  Well, it probably isn't quite that high, but it is more than even a small gorilla would choose to deal with.  Is there a replacement mainspring that is lighter?  Do I just need to cut it a slight bit?  I have cleaned and reoiled the pistol, which helped a bit, but the poor little darling still needs some help.  As bad as the DA pull is, SA is pretty darn good, with little creep and reasonable let-off.

The quickest way to reduce the trigger pull is with a Harrington Products firing pin.  I can't explain in a few words how it does but it does.  I have one in mine and the results are definately noticeable:  http://harringtonproducts.com/firing-pins/

The problem is a very heavy double action pull; single action pull is pretty darn good.

It helps with the DA pull as well something about the loaded chamber indicator and safety etc. etc.

I doubt that it would help with my problem,  With the slide removed and no possible additional friction or resistance from the loaded chamber indicator and safety, the double action pull is still just as heavy.
