Looks like this pistol had left and right slide release.  After looking it over it appears to have been made in 96. Not as old as I thought. More than likely the slide stop was replaced. I'm definitely going to kggunkote it. Probably two tone. Haven't decided yet on what exactly.

Took it apart to clean it when I got home. Racking the slide felt horrible. Threw away the chewed up shock buff, I thought 1911's were the only thing people put shock bugs in. Probably going to replace some internals as a kit from the CGW and install new sights. Not sure on the barrel. Rifling looks good. I'll have a chance to shoot it next weekend. Thinking of stainless frame, new hammer and trigger, blue safety and slide stop, wood grips and flat black slide.

I like those CZ85's.  Ambidextrous safeties and slide release is a good features in my mind.

Yours appears to have an older CZ75 style slide release on it.

For some reason, CZ made some pistols stamped CZ85 on the slide that did not have ambidextrous slide release levers.   

I like your color scheme.  Mine turned out a little whiter/duller than the stainless look I was looking for.  The slide is really a deep blue, but looks black in certain light.  You can see the difference in the slide release (both the ambidextrous style and the way the lever is made to help keep your finger from slipping on the surface of the lever.

Yuppers, yours is about what I have in mind. I priced out the parts. Hard pill to swallow to put 600$ in parts for something I traded a 380$ Frankenstein ar15 pistol for lol.

Well, mine was one of the older ones and was in rough shape.

The newer CZ front sights wouldn't work on mine (those that install from the front of the slide and have a pin that holds the barrel bushing and sight in place).  Mine had the 1911 style front sight that has a pin/shaft on the bottom of the sight that protrudes down through the slide and even barrel bushing and helps hold the bushing in place.  I used a 1911 front sight and needed a taller back sight, the LPA sights were bought as a set (front and rear) but I couldn't use the front sight due to the size/shape of the tenon on the bottom of the sight.

I replaced the barrel (badly pitted barrel and chamber.)  I got the threaded barrel because the regular one was out of stock and I'm impatient.  Had to modify the inside of the slide to fit a modern barrel to it (you shouldn't have to do that (I say shouldn't, how is your slide made, up front, on the bottom.  Yours is a B model so it should be okay for parts replacement with modern parts.

I replaced all my springs but left the original internal parts installed in it (except for the barrel).

What parts are you replacing that cost $600?

I'll probably drag out the rebuild for several months. The kit from CGW was a tad over 300. Wood grips are 50-80. Sights will run about 140 and another magazine. Supplies for gunkote will probably run 30.

Did some research, but wanted confirmation... apparently no way to change to decocker?

I want to add a CZ85 to my collection eventually. I wish some of these importers would be as discreet with their markings as DWJ Imports though.
