Something to read at this time of year.

I read this everytime I'm near an election.  It's Washington's Farewell Address.  I wonder if anyone in DC ever bother to read this.  They all want to evoke Washington, or FDR, or Kennedy, but do they really know what they're doing?

Very good and timely indeed.

In that same context I offer the following as suggested reading on how this great nation of ours came to be.

The book is titled Founding Brothers The Revolutionary Generation by Joseph J. Ellis. I found it to be a good and informative read. If accurate, as I expect it is, it brings a great perspective to the lives and thoughts of our founding fathers.
