I can recommend two guys. Both do great work.

1) I just had an 82 hard chromed by Ron Mahovsky. His Metalife finish looks like stainless Steel. http://www.mahovskysmetalife.com/
Here is mine.

2) I had a friend of mine, Don Haney, in Kansas that is a gunsmith Duracoat a Kel-Tec PF-9 for me. He does good work.
Here is mine.

Would you mind telling us what you paid for the duracoat? I'd like to have my 82 dura-coated and would like to know a ballpark price. Thanks

I'm going to have my 82 refinished by a place called macs shootin iron. google it. it's the only sight that will come up. He is suppose to do some great work. I'm getting mine done in satin nickle. I will be sure to post some before pics of the flaking black polycoat & then tons of after pics. It should look amazing after it's done though.
-My CZs-
75B Duo-Tone 9mm
RAMI 2075 Black 9mm
VZ 82 Satin Nickel 9x18 mak
Kadet 22 conversion upper (for use on my 75B)

-Other-
Ruger LCP 380
S&W M&P 15 AR/M4 platform rifle (customized)

I DuraCoated two -82s, and if someone will do a quality job for $100, I say jump on it unless you're the type who likes do do stuff yourself.

There's a lot of prep work required to make it come out right. I did mine as a "project," so wasn't concerned about the time. Investing in the DuraCoat and airbrush, etc, came out well over $100. If you don't want to go thru the time and trouble--send it off!

I cannot tell you how happy I am w the finish on my 82. I was going to use it as my trk gun, but now it is my full time carry.Mac's Shootin Iron in Tucson did the tuff gun finish. He also did a Satin Nickel HiPower for me. I can only tell you his work is excellent.
