Shot my first match ever in IPSC this past Easter weekend.  I did not go with high expectations as I only took up pistol shooting about a month and a half ago, but ended up doing fairly well against seasoned shooters.  Overall, I ended up in 36th and 29th in both days out of about 70 shooters.  I can say that probably it was 80% the gun and only 20% myself.

Congratulations on your finishes!!!   I've been thinking about competition but haven't gotten the nerve to do so yet.  I'm sure I'd be in LAST place.  But hey....someone has to be last.   Now you've got me thinking that maybe I should read up some more on IPSC.

Sounds like you did very well for a beginner. Let us know how you do the next time. The main thing though is to have fun.
