please help me to make an intelligent decision: to choose between CZ85 and CZ97.
I am packing PCR and want to have her bigger sister for unrated fun on shooting range, may be pin shooting.
I've selected 85 over 75 and now 97 bothers me and I can't have both :(
And where I can order 85, and what price range should it be in?

Thank you

Do you need ambi controls?  The CZ-85 has them, and the 97B doesn't..

Do you have a large hand?  The CZ-97B requires itl the 85 is more forgiving.

Want different grips?  There is little available for the 97B, yet.

Need a holster?  Limited holster options for the 97B, still -- but I think Eric (here on the forum) can fit you.

Have you shot much .45?  Are you willing to pay MORE for each shot?  Then the 97B is your choice.  Very nice gun and very accurate.

All that said, its really a personal decision.  Try the grips of both.  I had a 97B and liked it, but it was just too big for my hand (and Witness .45s aren't.)   I have an 85 Combat.  Fine gun.

Thanks Walt.
I am not lefty, so ambi is not of high importance to me. But I like the option of adjustable sights and better (?) trigger.
I did not handle 97 yet, but it seems both of them have the same width (35-36mm?).
How is 97's grip comparing to 1911's?

Thank you

The width may measure the same, but the grip is noticeably different.

The adjustable sights aren't standard on the 85; the come on the 85 Combat which is a more-expensive gun.   (It has other attractive features, however.)

The 97B grip is MUCH, MUCH more of a handful than a 1911; don't look for similarities.

Don't forget that the 75B comes in .40, and that you can add adjustable sights.

Don't overlook the standard 85B.  Just like the 75B but with ambi controls.  Less expensive than the 85 Combat.

Yes.

Finding one, however, may be difficult.  (Dealers aren't big about ordering these guns unless they have direct ties to CZ.  Most dealers don't.)
