Some new extended basepads
« on: February 05, 2011, 12:16:20 PM »
A friend of mine is making up these basepads for another platform, so I thought I would see if they would work on a CZ.
turns out they actually do. I didn't do anything other than put them on some mags I had. Using a factory follower and spring. not modified in anyway.
They are nicely made, use a small screw that is in the basepad to retain them on the tube. You won't lose the screw when taking on and off. Very cool idea.
Anyway. Just putting them on and using the thick factory follower I get 18 rounds in the small pad and get 21 with the larger pad. Using modified springs and followers I am pretty sure I can get another 1 or 2 rounds in the smaller pad and 2 or 3 in the larger pad.
I really like the way  the small one looks with the gun. not too large and follows the contours. So what do you all think?

I haven't verified yet on CZ mags, but they are intended to fit the gauge.

Is the long the beretta pearce bad?

they look like them, but made out of aluminum and have a retaining screw.

Originally designed for the SIG ( he's a Sig fan/shooter ). He says, depending on follower/spring he is getting 16-18 rounds of .40 in a SIG 226.
I can probably track some down, if anyone is interested in a group buy.

Played a little more with some parts I had..
was able to do 23 reloadable and there is room to get 24 in, but the follower rolls a little, so not banking on 24 in the mag just yet.

I'm in love with the idea of 16-18, it looks a lot like the Arredondo basepad I used when I hacked an M&P mag for 19 rnds in a Steyr M40-A1.
