Nice pics, thanks! I didn't know the Iraqui police had adopted the vz-58, interesting. Great to see the longest serving assault rifle doing so well - how did that Afghani make it work with AK mags, I wonder.

I always find it interesting to see the different armies/police working together. We did this in Norway back in '90 during Battle Griffin. Up there we were swapping w/ the HK 91. I found that 7.62 to be quite a "push" compared to our buffered M-16 in 5.56.
In the last pic, the radio operator has his muzzle in the dirt. Hope it ended well!!!

I like the stickers on the receiver in the first photo. I need some Dora the Explorer stickers for mine...."Can you say suppressive fire?? Bueno!!"

This may sound like a stupid question, but I'm not too familiar w/ the VZ (much less, the AK). But how can you tell the difference between the VZ and the AK at a fairly quick glance?

Look at the front by the top hand guard. The AK and VZ look different around the pistol area. The AK has a longer "tube" and the VZ58 does not. This can be seen from a distance.

The rear top cover and the AK are significantly different, with the vz-58 having a large angled bolt handle.
