Cost of Flat Spring Magazine BrakecCZ 75B
« on: April 23, 2011, 08:42:12 AM »
Good Morning All,

I picked up a CZ75B for 375.00.  Unfortunately, it only came with a 10 round magazine.  I discovered the magazine brake, and tried to flatten it out, and it did not work too well.  I removed it, for now.  What I am wondering, is the magazine going to fall out when I shoot it?   Im going to flatten it some more and re-install it.

How much is the proper spring from CZ, or is there another place that I can order the flat magazine brak?

My pistol was born in 1996, and like it very much.

Thanks,

Mark Reyes

With the brake out your mags won't fall out but it guides the mags in. I haven't bought a mag guide in years but I think it was around $9 but shipping was almost as much. Mark

Hi Mark,
If you haven't already fixed or replaced the mag brake, it's easy to fix now that it's out of the pistol.

Place it on a flat hard surface/anvil and gently hammer the 'crease' dead flat and reinstall.  Bending it by hand or with a screwdriver without removing it may work, but  peening it flat will work and not cause other potential problems.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy that 'new' pistol.
