looking for the option to buy...and a good reason why!

Greetings from Czech Republic !

I have my CZ100 (m.y. 2001 ,US model) for just two weeks, but i will try to share my expirience.

So, the gun has great handling and quite good accurancy ( but i didn't shoot on longer distance than 25meters/70feets). For me the trigger was no problem, i've read the expiriences of other before i bought the gun. People who are accusing DAO trigger from "spoiling" the gun has to know that this gun is primarly for self-defence, not combat shooting. It's work is to take "care" of 1-2 bad boys. That's all. If you need to take down whole gang brotherhood you should buy a machinegun instead 8)

And i think that CZ 100 does this job pretty well. And thanks to DAO its safe even when its cocked. That's important plus. Another plus is it's small weight and compact size  - i carry it in my trousers pocket without any problems - i could walk, sit and drive a car without feeling uncomfortably.

But there is a negative. Maybe its illness of just my gun,  i don' t know, but it really pisses me of >:
The problem is, that my gun is working well and without jamming just with the factory approoved S&B 9mm Luger 115grs bullets. When i tried another (some hungarian MFS 123grain bullet) the gun get jammed when i was trying to load it. It got jammed every second time >:  But when i finally loaded the first shell into the chamber then the firing itself was without any problems (about 100 shells fired).
As i recognized the main problem was the size of bullet - 115grs is somewhat smaller than 123grs..

But still it isn't ok. And i haven't tried hollow-points so i am courious what these will do....

On the other hand - if you test your gun properly you will get familiar with its needs and then it could work well...

Finally i could say that these approx. 200$ were well-spent for modern compact, although it has its bugs :smokin

I've not seen any 123 gr. rounds around here, but know from experience that some 124 gr. grounds have a different shape.

Compare the shape of two bullets (115 v 123) and you'll pr
obably see that the tip of the bullet is more blunt and wider near the tip -- which could cause a problem.

Yes that was the problem exactly. Anyway it is really 124grains but i don't think that this 1 grain will make any differnece :D

Maybe little OT : Was anybody in the situation when he has to use his CZ against live attacker ?

Actually, if you look at the CZ-USA site I believe it lists the CZ 100 B in the products index, so there is one. There is no longer a listing for a plain CZ100 so I guess only the new B models are being brought in now. I have been considering one too.

I was once one of the "don't care for the CZ100" club. Over the last few years I have forced myself to become more proficient in the DA mode of my DA/SA triggers and have done more than a little DAO shooting (revolvers and semi-autos). After tripping over a used (very slightly), very affordable CZ100 in the consignment case at a local shop I decided to reacquaint myself with one. Another local shop actually has one available to rent. Long story short, I decided to buy the one on consignment. Yes the trigger is long and SA shooters will not likely be singing any praises for the CZ100. The trigger on mine feels fairly light and is very smooth. Either someone has worked on it or CZ is spending a little more time on them. Mine appeared to be very lightly fired with no obvious work having beem done. I'm thinking someone bought it, dry fired it a few times and decided to sell it. I think shooting DA forces one to focus on their aiming throughout the trigger pull. I feel the smooth pull and follow through required to be proficient ultimately pays dividends. Once one has mastered the DA mode, I think huge improvements will be seen in the SA mode. The extra long trigger pull may actually help train out any jerking of the trigger.  Good DA shooting isn't easy but to do it well requires good technique.  If it were easy, everyone would do it.

The CZ100 is definitely an acquired taste and one I now actually like.

Yes, it does require good technique. It helps to practice with a revolver also to get the proper trigger pull in.  Benn thinking of gettign a CZ-100 just to roud out he collection, still debating it.

Finding one in 9mm should not be difficult for anyone right now. With Southern Ohio Gun offering them for $359.95 w/adj sights and two 13-round mags, about any non-CZ gunshop (except CA) should be able to get one.
