I'll post a picture as soon as I can. Tonight was actually my SECOND outing to the range-- my first was last night.
It was 5pm. There was nobody there. My only experience with firearms up to that point involved plinking some empty cans with a .22LR.
So, I turned on the lights (the indoor pistol and .22 rifle ranges are open 24hrs-- we just have to clean up and turn off the lights when we leave) and set up a simple orange bullseye target. Went through 2 boxes of Remington UMC 9mm through my brand-spanking-new SP-01. To my credit, having NEVER fired this type of gun before, 95 out of 100 bullets hit the targets (which were something like 12"x16", and I put up a new target for every magazine I went through).
I relayed that info to a guy on the local shooting team this evening, when I went back, and he nodded approvingly, saying "that's good work for your first try!"
So, he had me try at 10 yards and 15 yards. Now that the "first-timer" jitters have subsided, and I have a rough idea how my gun responds to my input, I managed to get some much tighter groupings (minus a few outliers, of course). I'm curious to see if I do any better after adjusting my sights?
