Are all CZ50s C&R
« on: September 04, 2011, 10:50:24 PM »
I'm looking at one that does not appear to say Made in Czechoslovakia anywhere on it like some do. The import mark says made in Czech Republic. Is this a C&R gun or not?

CZ 50 and CZ 70 (which are basically the same) were made since the early 50's until the 1983. So, the last one was made in 1983, ten years before Czechoslovakia splits into Czech and Slovak republics. If there is Made in Czech Republic, I can smell something  suspicious. Can you obtain a photography of this pistol? How it looks like? What about a finish? Is there some marking on the chamber?

If it's a CZ50 and has not been altered substantially it is C&R.

With regard to the 'import stamp' stating made in the Czech Republic, that's an error on the part of the importer. I'd not sweat over it.

If it's really a CZ70 it is not a C&R gun.

The import stamp identifies it as a CZ50, but also says Czech Rep. It's a Gunbroker listing, take a look at the pictures.

Ceska Zbrojovka Narodni podnik Strakonice - it is CZ-50 from the early years of production (1950's) in the old factory in Strakonice town before moving of the guns production to the factory in Uhersky Brod.
