CZ 52 extended floor plates
« on: October 08, 2011, 07:58:09 PM »
Has anyone purchased the extended CZ52 floorplates from eBay? First time I have seen these in steel. Many years ago they were from Makarov.com in brass. These even have the cutout for the magazine spring.

Yes I have and the fit was poor I had to recut the slots for the mag spring and fill the old slots and recoat them. The mag base plates when installed stuck out at the front of the mag well about a little more than a eight of an inch so it was not an even flow down the front of the mag well on to the finger groove. I cut material off the rear of the mag base plate so it could be slide further on to the mag so that the finger groove would fit perfect to the front of the magwell, then I moved the slot for the spring forward as well, then filled the old sot with expoxy let it cure and sanded parts and  duracoated the base plates black. all mods were done with a small dermel tool and some sand paper easy to do but not needed had the parts been manufactured to better standards. Pics are in the general firearms forum along with a Cz 82 that I just coated and installed XS bigdot nite sites on.  My 52 bases came from BCA industries.

Just noticed mine are being shipped from BCA Industries.

Did you let them know how bad they fit?

No I did not contact them, I have bought other items from them for the Cz 52 and for makarov pistols and have been very satisfied. I wanted to finish this project now so I made their part fit to meet my standards. I did not feel it was worth the time and effort to ship them
back and because I am coating rifle and pistol parts black all the time for the business I just quickly modified and coated them.. I put 2 on original mags and 2 on aftermarket mags all required mods to fit properly. I am happy that they decided to produce this item because it does make mag removal easier.

Thanks for the replies.
I now have much more in additional parts for my CZ52 than what I paid for it in 1991. The Novak sights were nearly the same cost, plus Marschall grips, all the extended stuff, etc. But the gun still looks good and shoots great.

I always tell the story about the marine sniper who was shooting a Rugger 22 at 25 yards. Let him shoot the CZ52 with good boxer factory ammo. He shot the magazine inside a quarter at 25 yards. Like dammm!!!! He proceeded to tell me about the notchyness and the trigger creep, how it could be better. He could hold a pistol out with one arm, and the tip would not move a 1/1000 inch in ten minutes.
