The wait is over - CZ75 1977
« on: February 02, 2024, 05:06:29 AM »
Finally after 5 or 6 weeks waiting, I was able to collect on Monday.

1977 serial 379.

This was a service used pistol, holstered and obviously rarely shot, judging by the barrel condition, and slide and frame rails with little to no wearing of the blue/black. In the 80s it went into a collection, until I was able to get it recently for under 400 bills.
Here in The Netherlands, collectors are now few and far between, and new shooters are going for polymer or shadows, plus being lucky and finding one in a store that doesn't really know what it is helps.
I've wanted one for ever, and say what you will, but it will be shot, and enjoyed, not a safe queen to look at. Here in The Netherlands we can own 5 (yes 5), so I use my allowance wisely and enjoy everyone of them. Shown below with her sister, a Non B CZ 75 SA

Congratulations!
I just picked one up that looks just like it, but not nearly that nice. Mine is well worn, and I am trying to find the year of manufacture. The rep in Czech said that the year of manufacture is on the barrel with the C.I.P. proof test, whatever that is. There is supposed to be a crest with the C.I.P. proof followed by two digits which represent the year of manufacture. I couldn't find it on my pistol (which is serial no. J6962). I think mine is also a cold war era. Your story gives me hope to keep trying.

"Here in The Netherlands we can own 5 …"

Does your spouse get her own 5?
