Difficulty finding an 85 Combat
« on: April 01, 2012, 11:12:20 AM »
I've been looking for a new gun to start shooting local IDPA & USPSA matches and since I'm a huge CZ fan the 85C looks like it will fit the bill nicely right out of the box. I've got a P01 of course I can start shooting with but I would like to have a dedicated competition gun since the P01 is my only SD gun it gives me an excuse to buy the 85C as well. My problem now is finding one to buy. So my ???? Is the 85C really that rare of a gun and difficult to find all the time, or do I just have bad timing and everyone is out of stock? Does anyone know where I can locate one?  I did find a couple on GB, a black used one and a Satin Nickel new one. I'm not sure about the Satin Nickel but if they're that difficult to find I'll jump on it. I would prefer a black or blued new one.

Seems inventories are low and sales are high right now.

The 85C is available in black, satin nickel, and dual tone. No blue.

I bought mine used and have no regrets.

I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

I looked at the ones on GB. The satin nickel ones the guy dosent have in hand yet. They are a pre sell. He says he has shipping confirmation but you know how that goes. Besides he wants $675 and thats before 3% cc charge and shipping. Too much money for that gun imo.
The used one dosen't have a estimated round count and I think he is the second owner. GB can be a gamble when buying from non dealers.

You can buy the satin nickel one but you might kick yourself later. Could turn out by the time you get it the dam breaks open and they will be everywhere $100 cheaper.
I talked to CZ Custom the other day and they are frustrated there with lack of inventory and had no word from the factory on what to expect.
Think I'm just going to buy a 75 Shadow as they are available with a 3 week lead time.

Painter, didn't CZ discontinue the duo tone finish across the board? Don't think you can get a new combat in duo tone any longer

I reserved one of the satin nickel ones on GB since he's willing to do a layaway and let me make payments on it. I don't mind paying a little more since he's willing to do that. But, I will be kicking my self in the ass if I find one $100 cheaper in a couple of weeks. I would have all the $$ now if it wasn't for my last used purchase on GB a couple of weeks ago which has made me a little hesitant buying used again from GB. I picked up a Taurus 17hmr revolver from a police officer, took it to the range the day after I got it and within 50rds it blew up on me leaving the gun inoperable with the case stuck in the cylinder. So to be safe I'm sending it back  to the factory to make sure there is nothing wrong with it. The CCI ammo is going back to the factory as well to be checked out. So my used gun days on GB are a thing of the past for now. I would probably still buy used if I can put my hands on the gun before buying it.

Sorry to hear about you bad luck with the Taurus. Didn't realize the guy on GB did layaways. I do like that satin nickel finish. Wish the 75 Shadow came in something other than black. Oh well I may just send it off for a refinish job next winter when shoting season winds down.

CZ Custom will do layaways  on any of their custom models but not on factory guns. Thats how I'm going with the Shadow. Post some pics of that Combat when you get it.

We got several guns in at CZC on Friday. Several P01s, P06s, 75BD Police, Matte and Polished Stainless models, 85Combats, 75 Compacts and Ramis.

as of Monday night..all the P01s, Stainless, 85Combats and 75 Compacts are gone. These things go fast.

Let me know what you are interested in, I can try and give a heads up on what we have and what we get in.

Seen that one too. They are starting to trickle in it seems. I passed on a satin nickel one about a week ago for $612 plus shipping.

Is the $539 price on the web site still good?

Those prices should be good. I will double check when I get back in tomorrow.

give me a call tomorrow morning ( we are on Pacific time ).
things tend to go quick when people find out we have stuff.
