New aluminum guide rod

For me, it's was purely a personal thing.  The gun is so well built. I couldn't stand having a plastic guide rod.

If I switch to an aluminum guide rod should I also switch to a round recoil spring over the flat coil stock recoil spring?

If so, is 17lbs the rating of the stock recoil spring in the P-01?

sion!17lbs is the stock spring!if you have done some mods to the hammer spring etc, judge your recoil spring by the lenght the cases are thrown.schmeky told me 6 to 8' is where they should land.the heavier the spring the shorter they go!

I ordered an aluminum guide rod for my P-01 and haven't noticed any wear through 500 rounds except for a very small chip in the head of the guide rod but it could have shipped that way and I just didn't notice, again VERY small chip.

One thing to mention is that the aluminum guide rod is slightly thicker than the polymer guide rod so the stock flat coil spring scrubs against the aluminum guide rod. I ordered a round coil 17lb Wolf Spring to stop the scrubbing and have had no issues.

the poly rod is slightly longer, even when bowed while the aluminum rod is thicker in diameter. sorry, those pictures sucked. they didn't show what i'm trying to say
