Wolff 75B springs??
« on: March 10, 2012, 01:59:15 PM »
I've just noticed that Wolff sells recoil springs that are intended for the 75B's, has anyone tried them?
I have a few CZ/TZ springs, but they have a larger diameter, are these smaller?

BTW, I mean the springs with #538xx stock number.

I've been using Wolff #430xx springs in my TZ75 and CZ75B without a problem, #43016 in both right now. They fit snug over the guide road and don't need any trimming to function. Haven't tried the 538xx springs.

I currently have some (older?) 43x springs that I shooting buddy gave to me, but they don't fit the guiderod......so I'm a bit confused ;-)
But next week or so, I'll order some '75B' springs and I will post when I get them.

I bought a 16 lb. wolff spring for my 75B in 40SW.  I really didnt like it.  its too big in diameter and really rakes along the inside of the frame.  For the same money you can buy Browning hp spings from wolff that will work much better in the cz 75b.  My understanding is that the wollf spring is meant to fit the 75 and all the clones.  So its not a really good specific fit.  The Browning HP spring is a much better fit in my opinion.  Or you could look at Cajun gun works.  If you shoot a 9mm 75b CGW sells springs in the correct weight for the 9mm and he has them made to specifically fit the 75b.

But did you buy the '75B' springs (stocknumber 53xxx) or the CZ/TZ springs (stocknumber 43xxx)?

I bought the Wolff # 43016 and I also tried a CZ factory spring #19607 .  The CZ spring and the Wolff spring looked identical in size and shape to me.  Both are too large in diameter in my opinion.  The best fitting spring that I have tried so far is the Wolff# 40717 for the browning HP.  If you do try the 503xx springs, post back and let us know how they fit.

I'm not sure what's going on either, the 430xx springs have been used in the CZ75B and the TZ75 for years. I don't know if CZ changed something since my 2005 75B was built or if Wolff changed the size of the spring since mid 2006 when I bought mine directly from them.  These may have been packaged wrong, but they fit both of my 9mm pistols.

I had the same experience with the two "different" part # springs from Wolff.  I use light springs (11#) and both were too long and loose on the guide rod.
I also ordered the HP 11# spring (only comes as a variable rate spring).  It fit the guide rod a little better and didn't have to be shortened quite as much.
I give up.

FWIW: I've been using a Wolff 16# recoil spring in my 75B .40S&W Stock ## 53816. So far it has worked well with my steel guide rod.  I have about 400 rounds through it with this spring.
