Adjustable sights
« on: March 16, 2012, 10:45:21 AM »
Hi from Norway!  :D

New to this site, and recent new owner of an almost unused Cz 75 from 91.
I have a few issues, and this seems to be the place to solve them?
First I need an adjustable backsight as it shoots too low on 115 grain, and over here its a lot more expensive to get anything else..
Any suggestions besides LPA?  Have searched high and low for Tritiumsights, but seems no one make those as adjustables, at least that I have found.. :(  Are there any sights that can be easily machined to fit Cz?

US-laws about defining sights as parts of a gun now seems to stop me from purchasing from the US, heard it will cost 250$ just for an application to export a sight.. Anyone know more about this?

My hunt for a practical holster is still ongoing, an Itac cz 75 Retention level 2 is somewhere in the mailsystem, Fobus went in the bin even after correctional work to adapt it to rounded triggerguard. >:(  Anyone managed to find a good practical holster for it?

Thats it for this time, hope for answer, in the meantime- Safe and happy shooting!

I love my LPA adjustables, that being said they are very expensive. Why not change out your front or rear sight to compensate for the low shooting. You would need a lower front sight or higher rear to make it hit higher. The rear sights are numbered as to their height and you can measure the front to get a shorter one as well. It is a WAY cheaper option, CZ-USA sells the sights for as little as $9. What country are you in?

You can get adjustable rear sights used at most of the online auctions.
But, one of the problems with the adjustable sights ist, that they are high riding. That means, they sit on top of the slide, with a slight gap between the sight and the slide. And mostly you have to mount that butt ugly huge front sight (I don`t like then too much, even if I have a larger front sight on mine, as you cann see below, but mine just looks better...  8) )
Mostly you will have to replace the front sight aswell, what is a pain inthe ass, when you have the Pre "B" model with the staked front sight.

Unless you get the small rear sight from LPA, that is compatible with the original front sight.

To override the high riding, ad?justable rear sight, you can have to settled into the slide.

This is a pic of my Pre "B", that I had some work done on.

Here the entire album of all of the work:

And here the result, what it looks like now:

And here two pics from the second 9mm system I have for my Pre "B", that Iw ill get back tomorrow. I don`t have a clue, what it looks like now, but I expect it to be pretty cool and will post some pics when I get back home.

In this pic, you can see, how the front sight was staked in the slide. Only way, to change the front sight is mostly to have a dovetail cut into the slide.

o.k. I picked up my conversion kit today and it looks really sweet!

Here are the pics. Keep in mind, the front and rear sighth are fully custom made. Nothing is out of the box.

Thanks for advice, nice piece you`ve got! I think I`ll go for the Heinie Slant pro,
now its just a matter of seeing if I can get hold of it and get it to Norway....
Easier said than done with laws popping up like madmen... :(

Try midway.
I know they have a shop in northern gemany (http://www.midwaydeutschland.com) or www.triebel.de.
Triebel has experiance in exporting...so they could maybe get the sights and ship them to you.
