shock buffer
« on: June 20, 2012, 05:30:53 PM »
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if you or your friends have used shock buffer on the SP01 Shadow.
Here in my country (Italy) a few friends they have mounted on his gun. What do you think? are useful? I am on my gun I removed the plastic spring guide rod, and I mounted a steel made ??to be a turner.
Thanks for the advice :)

Hello tonimu, and welcome the forum.

This has been discussed by several members and it seems to be a "shooters preference".  Read here.    http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?action=search2

The SPO1 has plenty of weight up front plus the added weight of your your steel guiderod.  This weight makes recoil buffers seem unnecessary for me and many others using the CZ75 SPO1 Shadow, but I don't shoot high powered/+P loads with a CZ75.

Strictly my opinion, but Shok-Buffers are a solution to a problem that does not exist. Keep in mind these are known to cause ejection problems in some guns since they decrease the slides total rearward travel.  I don't know of a single professional 1911 pistol smith that recommends them, although I realize you are asking about a CZ.

The principle is the same whether CZ or 1911.
