hCZ 97 B vs BD
« on: May 27, 2012, 08:51:16 PM »
Can anyone shed some light on the main differences between these two models. I admit i do prefer pistols without safety switches, but have read that the de-cocker creates issues with the trigger among other complications. I have no reliable resorces besides my trusted amigos here. My next purchase will be a CZ 97 DB or B based on all the info i can get. Thanks

97BD has rubber grips and night sights.
97B has wood grips and 3 dot sights.
the BD is a little more expensive than the B model.

Decocker guns are just slightly more complex in operation and in the complete takedown process, but not really a complication.
Both can have equally good trigger work.
Both CZC and CGW make great parts that would work with the 97B or 97BD.

Thanks Stuart, one other question, looking at the two the b model with the gloss finish in simply...well it may be the most beatiful pistol around, any way to get that finish in the bd model. either from the factory or after the poly coat is applied.

The glossy blue is very nice.
So far I have only seen the B model in it, not the BD.

I suppose anything could be done. the polycoat hides a lot of surface blemishes, so not sure how much work or cost would be needed for metal prep before bluing the gun.
