Use of CZ-Custom/CGW parts/sights in a pre-B
« on: May 29, 2012, 08:09:20 PM »
I want a full-size non-FPB CZ for USPSA production, but would rather not have the ambi-controls  of the 85 Combat, and a Shadow is too rich for my blood right now. That leaves a pre-B model, which is appealing since I don't care about the crappy finish and the price is a good bit cheaper than even a standard 75B.

I know some of the internals are different; my question is just how different. If I gut the FCG (sear, springs, and hammer, maybe cage) can I install one of the new CGW/CZ-Custom set-ups in it? Or is the actual frame different enough to preclude this?

Second, what are my best options for sights? It's been a while since I've gotten to see one in person, but I though I remember the rear being a standard dovetail. The front IIRC is pinned on, so can I get the front milled for dovetail as well?

the CZC and the CGW parts will work in the 75.
the trigger pin is different size, the safety is retained differently ( uses a small plate and spring ).

magwell is a different dimension. you will have to have the frame opened up or use SP01 mags ( I think fit ) and 10rnd mags ( I think fit )
sorry that wasn't helpful.

the front sight you can have milled with a cross dovetail ( I would use one of the common 1911 front sight dovetails, so that will give you options )
