An Academic Question
« on: March 08, 2003, 08:10:55 AM »
This may have been asked before, does the 75 compact slide fit and function on the PCR frame? The reason I ask is pure vanity :)  I came across a satin nickle 85 combat whilst buying some ammo, what a gorgeous finish! and while I don't really forsee a need for an 85 combat, I do know CZ manufactures a satin nickle slide for the 75 compact two-tone, now if said slide could be used on the PCR frame it would make for quite an interesting one-of-a-kind pistola, and also clearing up the aftermarket sight drought since I believe the compact uses the regular 75B dovetail. Pure speculation I realize, but any info would be helpful.

I like the concept, and I agree it would be a sharp looking piece when completed.  However, I always thought that factory produced two-tone pistols were a combination of a blued or polycoat slide and nickel coated frame.  Are you sure CZ makes a nickel compact slide?  More power to ya if they do!

For the price of a new slide, you could have your current one refinished in any number of high tech coatings and colors.  Food for thought for the 'academic' minded.

How about an academic answer?....the two tone comes like stated previously....nickel frame, blued slide...the do however make a nickel Compact that would have the "said slide" in nickel.  The Compact slide will indeed work in the PCR frame.

The Compact and CZ83 use the same sight configuration...the PCR/Po1 have the same configuration as the 75b fullsize.
Meaning the Compact/83 is NOT the same as the others.....

Shoot well :smokin

It was the all nickle compact, not the two-tone I saw the slide on. Listed as a special order only piece from J&G. The sight issue is a bummer but what the heck, it'd still be a fine looking piece. I realize for the same cash I could get hard chroming, or take it up to A.R.S. for one of their metacol finishes. Hmmmm I could get that burgundy finish with yellow lettering and call it "The Barney":)

I love youuu...You love meee (you know the words don't try to hide it)
