I think a bigger issue is the single action only VS the decocker.
Both have their uses but the decocker is much more user friendly than the single action only models, especially for a newer user.

If a lady's hands can handle the CZ-83, I would send her that way,

It costs less than either the Walther or the Sig and the CZ's recoil will be lighter too.
It is not as easily concealed.

There have been a lot of different PPK?s over the years and lots of differences in quality.  I wouldn?t want the current S&W one.  There were German, French and USA made ones.  I would get the Sig or a German or French one. I was working at a garage in the eighties where the narcotic cop's brought their cars in and I purchased my first PPKS along with them. Some were marked Walther and others Manurhin at the time and all worked quite well but then the USA made ones came out after that and had many issues. All were .380?s. PPK's went from imported by Interarms to produced by them, then S&W took over.  The S&W's have a tiny beaver tail to prevent the slide from biting your hand and are not held in high regard.

I was trying to choose between the PPK and Sig in the past for a carry gun and couldn't commit to either one nor could I find another Semi Auto I liked any better.  I ended up with s&w airweight without the lock which didn't turn out well.  I replaced that with a Walther P5, but will be getting an older stainless S&W Chief at some point.

are you pretty much stuck on which of these 2 would be the best choice or are you looking for other options?.....if its options have you had her try the Ruger Lcp (.380) or the Lc9 (9mm) both are pretty lite weight and fit smaller hands
if you have a good range near you I would go spend a day with as many rentals as she can handle

If your wife found the ppk uncomfortable to shoot, she will hate the Ruger sub compacts.

Having owned many .380s over the years, including from PPKs, P232s, KelTec P3ATs, and a PK380 among others, I would recommend the Sig P232. It's a fine pistol, accurate and very comfortable to shoot. The trigger pull in SA is around 4-5lbs factory. The P232 is IMHO a much more comfortable shooter than the PPK in .380 acp, although I do love my PPKs. Has your wife tried a Makarov pistol, E. German or Bulgarian not CZ82? They are similar in dimension and operation to the Walther PP and also fine shooters, much less expensive as well.

BTW, if she really likes the way the ppk handles and shoots, consider putting on a Hogue grip sleeve. They really make a comfort difference on the PPK. I have one one my range shooter PPK.

I have a p238 and I am VERY pleased with it and I have put a lot of rounds through it with no issues at all.

As far as recoil vs an 83 I would call it a wash.

I shot them side by side and I thought the sig was actually smother and I am a HUGE CZ guy.

Cant go wrong with it as long as the single action works for her.

I would get the extended mag

How about a Beretta 85FS Cheetah or 84FS.
