Full Length Guide Rod for the 97B
« on: July 31, 2012, 02:43:39 PM »
I know that they are not necessary with the 97B. But I like them and wanted to see if anyone had any contacts that manufactures them or does it as a hobby.  Also Looking to see what material you think would be best when looking for one, steel, aluminum...etc?

Thanks guys.

I put a stainless steel guide rod in mine. Guide Rod.com has them for 25.00. Very nicely made and they don't waste any time shipping them out either. Mine was here within 3 days.

If you get a chance can you snap a shot or two of it so I can see what it looks like? That is an awesome deal thank you. Do they have one specifically for 97B and if not what size did you get?

I'm not sure how to up load a pic onto the forum site but the rod is a stainless steel version of the full length plastic rod that comes with the gun. They have a rod specifically for the 97B. If you go to guiderod.com and go down to the CZ line up you'll go to the drop down menu to the right and select CZ97b which is at the bottom of the drop down menu.
Mine fit perfectly and I've put 1100 rounds through the gun with it installed and the gun functions flawlessly.

I kinda like full-length guide rods, but my CZ97 is so spectacularly accurate that I'm reluctant to jack with it. I might try one since it's easy to go back to stock if I don't like it.

I agree with Cavalry man.  I have just completed a 250 round class from 3 to 10 yards and found it OOTB to be very accurate.  Stock everything but looking to add a full length guide rod to see what happens.  Probably nothing since handheld accuracy couldn't get mush better!
