I disassembled the offending magazine and found the spring to be inserted correctly but the follower had a few spots on it where paint had 'globbed' which could have been the culprit.  I dug out the handy Dremel and smoothed them out, and cleaned the mag body which wasn't bad but had some grease in it.  One other thing I noticed was a slight ding in the rear spine, I took a punch and flattened it out the best I can.  The magazine seemed to function well once reassembled, I made two small marks on the bottom with a Sharpie so I know which one gave me problems the next time I go to the range.  I'll also bring my fourth mag to make sure it works fine as well.

Cheers!  M2

congrats on the vz2008, they are a good u.s.a built clone of the vz58.  i had the opportunity of owning one, and good to see you have an original wood stock set which for me is a keeper.

Having had a WASR10 that shot 8 feet low at 25 feet (I am not joking) I am now kinda burned on that "maker" but I am glad to hear that you are quite happy with yours!

sorry but thats funny, was you wasr built by century arms?  or the cugir built imported one?  cause my cugirbuilt wasr 1063m is just as accurate as my formely owned vz2008

Not to get sidetracked by I have a WASR 10/63 as well as a Cugir-built SAR-1, both are pretty accurate shooters.
