CGW parts installation success
« on: October 30, 2012, 07:06:17 PM »
I just wanted to tell the forum that I installed a 'Race Hammer Kit' from Cajun Gun Works on my Pre-B CZ 75. I had a very light hammer spring in the gun. With the light spring the trigger was way too light. I installed a 17 lb. spring from a Wolff spring kit, and that increased the trigger pull to somewhere around 3 lbf. (based on supporting the gun+mag. by the trigger and bouncing it a bit). I will probably increase the spring weight again after some more range time. I also replaced the fixed rear sight with an adjustable (LPA) sight from Fusion Firearms. The original sight shot consistently low for me.

The two changes made the gun much easier to shoot. The single action pull is much crisper. With the original hammer and sear my groups would tend to form a line, oriented from lower left to upper right, 2" below point of aim. My groups are now much tighter than before, and the holes in the target are now spread semi-randomly around a point. They gun is now much easier for me to control.

I highly recommend the CGW kit to anyone who might be interested in improving their pistol's performance.
