Follow-Up and Close:

I loaded 4.2 grs of n320 at 1.10" and 1.09"
1.10" = 125 PF =too slow
1.09" = 128.8 PF, 1039fps,   ES=32  SD=9,  Shot to POA at 12yds.  I'll load up 50 and give them some tests across various USPSA targets.

To make use of the 1.10+ oals I prefer, it would take 4.3grs of n320.
I have to modify a Lee disc hole for that drop, so these 4.2gr loads at 1.09" will be fine for practice rds until I get bored enough to tinker with the disc.

How does your accuracy compare with the HBFN vs the HBRN? With my limited testing with AA#5 I think the flat nose may be more accurate.

M39nut, that's what I'm up to now.  I just loaded 100 with n320 to give them a trial run---probably next Tues..
My chrono tests were with 10rds X 2 loads,   two targets on one backing were at 12yds,   standing offhand.  The 128PF group (shot last) was strung N-S about 3" and all within 1/2" or less of the N-S centerline.  3 in or touching the 1"bull, the others above & below it.
The bullet seemed to be doing it's job.  I'll try to catch up to it.  I have no feel for it yet.

Now that I've got some to play with,  I can compare how they/I do against the 124 HBRN and the Zero 125JHP with feed reliability, draw and first DA shot, target transitions and varying ranges and targets out to 25yds..  I'm no great shot, but I do know what I can do reliably (mostly  ;D) with the other two bullets for comparison.

P.S.  I had good feelings toward the AA#5 loads I tested, just haven't pursued it --yet.
For me, the 125JHP and n320 powder are both very good+  in all the important characterics for action shooting.  Are they together the most accurate...no.  The 124HBRN comes close.

I loaded a few more and shot 130 rds today using the 124gr HBFN.  Shot from 10yds to 20yds at 5 different type targets.
Basically my hits were the same as the 50 124gr HBRN  I also shot.
The feel was virtually the same.  So far, I'm well satisfied with the bullet
I did fire 10 at shotgun hulls on the back berm (a 28yd? game my son and I do).  Had a few hits, but also seemed to shoot just a skosh higher than the HBRN.  Hard to say.

I'll finish out this 1000rds for range practice.  Savings = 1cent +/- per rd. 8)
Where has CLINT been anyway? ;D
