My '92 Pre-B is quite rough on the inside as far as machine marks are concerned. The inside of the frame is really, very roughly finished. Likewise, the rails and slide are also not machined to the same level of smoothness you may find on other brands of pistol. That said, the gun is dead reliable and shoots way straighter than I do.
When I got the gun and saw how rough the sliding surfaces were, I hit all those contact surfaces with a fine India slip stone, which flattened them and seemed to smooth the racking of the slide. However, I may have been fooling myself with the touch-up work. It could just have been better lubricated after I finished smoothing things than it was before I started.
If I could find a nice one for $330 I would buy it.
Note that I also owned a Tanfoglio small, polymer-frame clone. The slide on the Tanfoglio was way better finished than the CZ's slide. It did not shoot any better, though and I found the ergonomics a bit inferior for my hand.
