Small correction.

He spoke before the Connecticut Gun Violence Prevention Working Group, not Congress.  It doesn't really matter, the politicians have their minds made up and aren't listening to us 'subjects' anyway.

I was there and he got a standing ovation in the overflow room I was in.

One point of contention. I wish he had reminded the legislators that they swore to uphold the constitution, rather than "the will of the people".

If 51% of the people want to strip the rights of 49%, then legislators are justified in supporting "the will of the people".  The constitution limits government and upholds God given liberty for all; even if your rights are in the minority. 

I'd rather they honor their oath to uphold the constitution.

I'm afraid most democrat/liberal politicians long forgot their oath to uphold the Constitution, starting with the placeholder in the White House!

The best we can hope for these times is listening to the 'will of the people'.. Judging from the results of the last election, maybe I should have said, "Follow the will of the stupid people, because right now, they outnumber the smart ones!"
