firing pin spring
« on: March 18, 2013, 09:51:39 PM »
Just got a 20# Wolfe recoil spring for my compact which included a firing pin spring.
Do I need to put that firing pin spring in so I have a matched set or can I leave the stock firing pin spring in?
I have replaced the recoil and firing pin springs in all 4 of my cz82's with no problem. Looking at the firing pin I cannot see how to replace the spring on it. The 82's were a piece of cake but bleep if I can see how to replace one on my compact. How do I do this and do I need to ?

Do I need to replace the firing pin spring anyway? The only reason I'm sticking a 20# recoil spring in it is to cut back on recoil a bit and not because it is tired. The gun is new and only has about 200 rounds through it

It's not something that is needed as much as it?s recommended
The Firing Pin can move forward when the Slide slams into Battery with the added force of the heavier Recoil Spring
So they add an Extra Power Firing Spring

I would also invest in a spare slide stop. The stiffer the return spring the heavier pounding the slide stop takes.
