CZ40p's cheap no more!
« on: January 18, 2007, 07:47:09 AM »
Came across this while I was looking through Buds Gun Shop lisings. The price is up to $400 now. Glad I bought mine when they were below $300.

Since Criminals will always have guns, there’s no reasonable expectation of self-defense if law-abiding citizens don’t have them, too.

I know! I was looking to get one from bud's just right after the new year and then, BAM! :(  Almost a $100 jump. I wonder what caused the priced jump? Are they finally not going to be making anymore or are they going to be in full production and listed on the catalog/ website? :eek  Who knows. Grab them cheap when & where you can find them.

There are still a few on the gun auctions that are below $330. I don't think that they will last long though.

I just checked one of CZ distributors they have over 300 CZ40P priced below $300. The price went up for about $10-15 comparing to prices year ago.
Just wanted to let you know, so nobody will buy this gun from overpriced sources.
Stay safe,

I was recently at a gun show in Manchester NH.
I seen a new in the box 40P priced at $470.

I traded a S&W Sigma F .40sw and 4 mags for mine about 6 months ago.

I love it, my only complaint is a failure to feed on occasions.
I think the ramp needs work or something.
Is there round ball ammo out there?
The only thing I am finding is the flat heads and JHP's.

You can find that ammo out there.  Look for ammo in the 135-165 grain range.  The "flat heads" facilitate making a heavier bullet without increasing OAL.  I reload 155 gr round nose to avoid that very problem even though it hasn't popped up with my 40P.  Sorry I got off topic.

That's the 40B not 40P.

When I got mine back in September, the store had it listed for $385. I was honest with him and told him I could do better on-line (I even specifically mentioned Bud's). He brought it down to an out-the-door price of $330, which included taxes and background check. If you frequent a particular store or two, and they know you are a good customer, it never hurts to try to talk with them. He brought the price down, so when I wanted a 527, I made sure that I got it from him.

I haven't seem them at any of the local gun shows in at least a year now, but I got my 40P at a show almost two years ago for $285. The dealer had three 40P's when he started out that morning: I got #2 around lunch time and number three sold before the end of the day. The last 40P I did see for sale around here was around Christmas at the Academy store. They were asking $389 for it. I noticed it was gone a week or two later.

From what I understand, the CZ-40P is a limited edition. Also, I have checked a couple of other stores such as Academy, and the salesmen stated that they were not receiving anymore for their stock.
