Cz 557
« on: May 31, 2013, 09:51:34 AM »
Saw this write up and wondering if I should buu a 550 in .270 or wait. I knew the 558 sporter would be released soon but did'nt know there would be a lux version available too. Wondering what calibers and msrp may be.

That is a nice looking gun.

Do you want open sights or not?

New write-ups in the states are not very detailed; but if you expand your search overseas there's more to see:

The 557 looks like a handsome rifle, but it departs from controlled round feed to push feed.  The extractor is more like an old Sako style, with a Remington-ish plunger ejector.  There are pros and cons to this set-up; but comparing it to a 550 or BRNO 602 is apples to oranges.

I must admit, I look forward to seeing and handling the real thing soon.

Thats were cz makes it difficult. The ooen sights on the lux are great but then....i can scope a sporter. Same with the 550's, american vs lux. So many choices. A good thing. hurts to just buy one though.
