CA gets microstamping
« on: May 18, 2013, 03:46:15 PM »
Looks like  CA is now enforcing micro stamping for all NEW handguns going on the approved gun list.

Be interesting to see if there is:

1 a backlash from shooters
2 a lawsuit
3 if any manufactures just walk away from the CA market segment
4 if any manufactures stop selling to law enforcement agencies.

Unfortunately I see even more people leaving the state instead of staying and fixing the problems they brought on themselves. Not that I blame them for leaving the bulk of the state is doomed: Too many people who Want, who believe they Deserve and who have no ability or desire to Pay for it all.

It's a shame to see such a great state go "down the tubes" like a squib without enough powder.
It will take enough sensible people to "drive the squib(s) out" and build a completely new load.  :(

Horrible ...

By NEW I think this is what they mean, re: CBS .. seems clear from your post but thought I'd add this just to be clearer:

"The law doesn?t impact semiautomatic pistols already being sold legally and those on the state?s firearm roster, only new models."

So no P-09 for you CA

Wonder what happens when a gun hits the expiration date?

And do these maroons think criminals will not file the breech so it no longer micro-stamps???  For that matter what happens when the gun has been fired enough rounds to wear away that feature??? Ahh the liberal mind... do something even if it's useless!

Huge market just went bye bye for all pistol manufacturers - nobody is going to invest the time and money in making this ridiculous microstamping technology, as it's already proven to be unworkable.
On the other hand, foreign police suppliers like Glock, SiG and HK will continue to sell to the police market, as they are exempted from the laws that govern the citizens. I don't see any Ronnie Barretts overseas standing up for our rights, so no domestic pressure will affect that market, unless they fall prey to the new UN treaty and decide to no longer export to the US - THAT would be an interesting Catch 22 for the leftists, wouldn't it?
Back to California - I wish you guys all the luck you can get, seriously, and I wish Calirefugees would quit coming to other states and immediately press for laws that they fled from. We welcome all good gun people from California to Arizona, but please, don't try to change our laws - we like 'em just fine the way they are.
