I shoot low, maybe an inch or so at defensive distances.  I started off with a 6 o'clock sight picture, which is what I was taught, 50 years ago, as the way one uses open sights.

I happened to see a poster on the wall of the gun range showing sight picture 2 below as the correct sight picture:

.

This makes sense, as it is independent of the size of the bullseye for accuracy.  Perhaps my pistols are set up to use sight picture 3, because I'm still low, but the idea of obscuring the target with the sights doesn't seem right.

Furthermore, my sights align differently when using the tops vs the 3 dots ? the muzzle is slightly higher using the tops.

I talked to David at CGW today and bought some meprolight sights made for the P-01. Since the 40 compact has the same dimensions as the P-01 I'm guessing they'll work. He said he'd include a #6 or #7 size rear sight as well. Mine was a #5 rear sight and that's what has me shooting low.
I too prefer to have the POI at the top of where the sight blade is (pic #2).
My main CZ target gun is a full size 75 in .40 and the POI varies depending on what handload I'm shooting. If I shoot full power 180 grain loads the POI is somewhere between pic #1 and pic #2. My standard 165 grain load performs like pic #2. But I have these 125 grain bullets that I load sometimes and they actually hit like in pic #3.

I'll let you guys know if the P-01 night sights solve the problem.

The size ? e.g., 1.5?5.50 ? refers to a 1.5-mm high front sight and a 5.50-mm high rear sight.  The front sight is always 1.5-mm high.  Looks like a typo.

i think 1,5mm is actually the diameter of the fibre optic rod. (they come in 2 sizes ie 1.0mm and 1,5mm) the second measurement is the height of the front sight measured from it's base to the top.

The heights appear to be rear sight options.  Again, typo.

again i think that these measurements are the heights of the fronts sight. note that there is no size given like 1,5mm because these are not fibre optic sights.

the front sights fits all CZ75 models with dovetail on the slide from front to back.  i fitted a fo front sight on my p07 2weeks ago and kept the original plastic rear sight with the white paint removed. it now has the same sight picture than my sp01 Shadow.

guns don't kill people. NINJAS kill people.
